Hera Gallery is proud to present Tessera, a member exhibition featuring: Kathie Florsheim, Susan Matthews, Chad Amos Self, and Sarah Swift. The exhibition will take place at Hera Gallery, at 10 High Street in Wakefield, RI, from November 23rd to December 21st, 2019. The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Saturday, November 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Gallery will also hold an artist talk on December 21st at 3 p.m. to discuss each artist’s creative process and the conceptualization of works.

Kathie Florsheim’s work is about memory, deeply tied to the coastal environment of new England shores. Going to the beach becomes rituals that bring comfort and consistency. Susan Matthews exhibits work that deals with the binary relationship of opposites. She uses traditional craft mediums for their familiarity and imbued meaning to incite visceral response. Chad Amos Self focuses on the playful nature of pulps and fibers to crate pulp painting and fiber sculpture. Utilizing the process of paper making to translate his imagination into his art. Sarah Swift uses recycled material to create work and sustainable studio practice. Her work systematically mimics the ongoing cycle of build-up and breakdown found in all natural phenomena.

This Exhibition is on view through December 21st, 2019.
