MISSION

Hera Educational Foundation and Gallery promotes contemporary artists through a comprehensive exhibition schedule of member work, curated exhibitions, and national socially relevant juried shows. Together, with thought-provoking events and programming, our organization encourages dialogue that enriches the cultural life of our Southern RI community and expands its reach beyond state borders. Hera is  committed to creating inclusive culture.  We provide a venue for underrepresented artists to find a public voice. We are active supporters of our LGBTQ+ community, learners of varying abilities, and emerging artists. We strive to be an antiracist ally and provide equal opportunity to artists from marginalized groups.  We collaborate with local environmental and health organizations to promote the exchange of art, science, wellness, and activism. Since its inception in 1974, Hera has been resolutely dedicated to gender equity and feminist discourse to challenge perceptions and inspire social change.
