Board Vacancy: Treasurer, Hera Gallery Board of Directors (Volunteer)
Hera Gallery, a nonprofit, artist-run contemporary art space, is seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors beginning Spring 2026.
The Treasurer plays a vital leadership role in supporting the financial health and sustainability of the organization. This is a volunteer board position and an opportunity to meaningfully support the arts and Hera’s mission as a collective, community-centered gallery.
Role & Responsibilities
The Treasurer shall:
Have charge and custody of, and be responsible for, all funds and securities of the Corporation
Oversee financial records, reporting, and fiscal best practices
Perform all duties incident to the office of Treasurer
Carry out payroll responsibilities
Serve as a core member of Hera’s grant writing workgroup, supporting budgeting and financial planning for grant applications
Attend monthly board meetings (in person or on zoom)
Provide a monthly report as well as an annual report
Who Should Apply
Individuals with an interest in the arts and nonprofit sustainability
Experience or comfort with finance, accounting, budgeting, or organizational oversight is strongly encouraged
You do not need to be an artist to apply—though artists are absolutely welcome
A collaborative, community-minded approach is essential
Timing & Transition
The position will officially open this spring
Training and handover can begin as soon as possible, allowing for a smooth transition
