Susan Hayward
Susan was born and raised in Rhode Island and went on to attend college and live in California. Always interested in the arts, she was exposed to new and innovative ideas at the San Francisco Art Institute where she graduated with a B.A. She recieved her M.A. at U. C. Santa Barbara and was an active member of the southern California art community for many years. Ultimately returning to her roots, she now has a studio in North Kingstown.
Artist's statement: A work of art tells a story and is a vehicle to a realm that one might not normally experience. In creating my work, I try to combine a respect for history and tradition with a reverence for nature, considering the thought that truth might be beauty, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
