Artist's Statement |
|
Making art is my way of communicating to you and myself through
the subconscious / conscious action of painting. My paintings
are about the inner soul of man's spirit, encompassing
the subconscious to arrive at a meaning of fear, love,
hate, lust, envy, sloth and all the sins and emotions of
men and women; the dark places that shed much light on
who we really are. Opening the mind and soul, I hope I
have achieved the realization of my thoughts. ART, for me evokes questions
and make statements, communicating and creating a dialogue about the
human race, no matter how painful, or how funny, or how beautiful.
I have been making art for as long as I can remember. My early work to "pay
the bills" as a graphic designer included work with the very first Macintosh
art and design programs. All of my prior showings have been primarily traditional
media, with a focus on canvas, oil and mixed media. Over the last three years
I have embraced my digital skills... searching for the convergence of traditional
painting, photography and the virtual world of computing. This has led to
a very personal form of computer generated art. It is this art that has led
me to become a member of NOHO gallery in Chelsea, NYC.
