Artist's
Statement |
|
Art is a way for me to express the feelings that have no
other outlet in everyday life. I am an acrylic painter primarily
interested in color, patterning and layering. My paintings
can be amusing in unexpected ways, but some are emotionally
intense and occasionally disturbing. They range in subject
matter from portraits to still life and figures, often with
an emotional edge based on world events or women’s issues.
One series emanated from the events of September 11, 2001.
These and others comprise a visual record with color intensity
reflecting the intensity of emotional response.
