Claudia
Fieo is an Associate Professor of
Art, printmaking and graphic
design, and Chair, Department of Art and Art History at Wheaton
College in Norton, Massachusetts.
Her latest body of work, called "
Paradigmorphics -- Musings on Natural Forms," includes works
on paper that utilize a variety of printmaking techniques
such as chine-
colle, mezzotint, and solar-plate. In addition, Fieo
shows wall-hung glazed ceramic reliefs in which she has experimented with "embossing"
crocheted designs onto slabs of clay.
Claudia is inspired
by and incorporates patterns and shapes in her work,
such as the spiral, that occur with mathmatical regularity
in nature.
