Hera Gallery is pleased to present the 21st Annual Children's Exhibition and 19th Annual Young Adults' Exhibition to be held from February 5th to March 5th at Hera Gallery, 327 Main Street, Wakefield, Rhode Island.

This exhibition is sponsored by The Washington Trust Company, The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, and local businesses.

Over 300 students from 20 public and private elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Rhode Island will be participating in this exhibition.

The gallery is proud to be part of Youth Art Month 2005. Exhibits through the state in the month of March will highlight the developing talent and skill of students in grades K - 8.

Hera is committed to providing young people the opportunity and experience of showing their work, and to increasing public awareness of the value of the arts in education.

Special Events

Two opening receptions will be held on Saturday, February 5th -- a morning reception for children and an evening reception for young adults. Both events are free and the public is invited to attend.

An opening reception for grades K - 8 will take place from 10am to 12 noon. Hera Gallery welcomes Karen Stackown who will lead a children's art workshop using recycled materials during the this reception. Ms. Stackow is a South Kingstown art educator, public art program facilitator, and treasurer of the Peace Dale Arts Initiative.

An opening reception for the young adults will take place from 7 pm to 9 pm, with an awards ceremony at 8 pm. This year's juror for the Young Adults' portion of the exhibition is Grace Bentley-Scheck, printmaker and art educator.

Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, 1 pm to 5 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.

Hera is handicapped accessible.

This exhibition is free and open to the public. Free parking is available.
