Hera Gallery/ Hera Educational Foundation proudly presents
the 20th Annual Children's and Young Adults' Art Exhibition,
February 7- March 6, 2004.
Find
more imagse of the exhibition here.
Over 400 Rhode Island public, private, and home-
schooled students will be showcasing their artwork at Hera
Gallery from February 6-March 6, 2004. Last year Hera
welcomed hundreds of students, teachers, along with family
and friends to the gallery.
Hera Gallery President Alexandra Broches says,
"The Children's Show is a feast for the eyes. From floor
to ceiling our walls are covered in the paintings, drawings,
woodcuts, and photographs of Rhode Island's most talented
and youngest artists. Not to mention all of the sculpture
work that gets submitted.
Broches continues, "You can spend hours
one day looking over everything, and find something exquisite
the next day you hadn't seen before. We really need to give
a hand to all of the excellent art teachers in Rhode Island.
They really make this show happen."
Hera
Gallery thanks The Washington Trust Company and the
Rhode Island State Council of the Arts for generously
sponsoring this exhibition.
Hera Gallery is pleased to announce that in recognition of
our Annual
Children's and Young Adults' Exhibition, Hera was
recently honored the Distinguished Friend of Arts Education
2003 by the Rhode Island Art Education Association.

Established in 1974, Hera Gallery is a nonprofit, artist
run art gallery committed to exhibiting the work of established
and emerging artists. Our goal is to bring to our community
visual arts programming including presentations, lectures
and readings, which might otherwise not be available to the
residents of Southern Rhode Island.
Thanks to the devotion of our community and dedicated volunteers,
Hera Gallery celebrates its 30th Anniversary in 2004, opening
its exhibition calendar with the 20th Annual Children's Exhibition.
Exhibition
coordinator and Hera Board member Melissa Crawford
says, "Like Hera Gallery, this show has evolved over
the decades; this year we sent invitations to 50 public and
private Rhode Island art teachers."
