30 Days + 24 Hours, A Comic Book Challenge.

Hera Gallery is pleased to announce a call for entries for the upcoming exhibition, 30 Days + 24 Hours. This show will feature Rhode Island based artists working in the styles based or originating in the comic book format. Size, content, and materials are subject to the artists’ interests; however, the work must evolve in a visually segmented manner.
The show will focus on three specific methods of making. The first will be a 30 Day Comic Book Challenge. This challenge will give makers the 30 days prior to the show to complete a finished comic book or graphic novel. All works will be displayed and available to the public to view. The second aspect will be a 24 Hour Challenge. The specific date of this exhibition is yet to be announced. Hera will remain open for a 24 hour period of time, during which , artists are invited to participate by completing a comic solely during that 24 hours! There will be models, music, reading, food, and festivities provided during this time to stimulate the senses. Lastly, Hera Gallery will be displaying story-boards, large format drawings, small format works, etc. This may include any work made outside of the 30 Day + 24 Hour challenges.
